Nature As Art Form July 09 2013

Pictures For Living is committed to representing only creations of nature in our work. There are various reasons for this. We could, after all, not limit ourselves. Some people might like pictures of antique cars, etc.. But we have a plan and a goal and yes, a conviction. We are not just trying to sell a product. We are deeply invested in helping people believe in the beauty of our planet, our home.

While we do much more than make pictures, it will always be our pictures that are the heart of Pictures For Living. And the naturally beautiful creations we make pictures of will always provide the source of our motivation.

Living, Changing Pictures July 09 2013

We want all of our pictures to be moving in and out of frames and frames moving around too perhaps, thus conveying a sense of life to the places they are seen.

Pictures For Living believes that living with our pictures and picture installations may be very good for you and we have good reasons for that!

What We Photograph July 09 2013

There are hallowed traditions of nature photography mostly based in a vision of the world as either grand landscape or close-up “macro”. We take a different approach. We have nothing against tradition but our predilection is a close examination of form and texture and outline in series, where pictures often work together in juxtaposition.

What We Are Thinking July 09 2013

Our Pictures For Living concept is based upon two core beliefs. We believe pictures of natural things and the natural world can be elegant and beautiful in a contemporary way. We also believe that living with our pictures at home or seeing them every day in a work place or public space will make us feel more tranquil. More at peace with ourselves. We’re pretty sure that if someone were to do a scientific study they would find true in fact what we believe intuitively.

When we make pictures we look at things that might otherwise not be considered dramatic enough to be photographed at all. Things like grains of sand, stones, leaves, clouds, water, seen for their own immense, particular beauty. Beyond “grand landscape” we look somewhat myopically at our world and we believe this reveals a new perspective upon the beauty of the natural world.
